Maintaining curly hair

After reading our article on "how to style and wash my curly hair", you want to know "how to maintain it between shampoos?" You've come to the right place! We are going to summarise a few little things you can do on a daily basis to maintain your curly hair!

WHEN YOU WAKE UP, MOISTEN YOUR CURLS!

You had beautiful curls the day before, but when you wake up they are no longer supple enough to form nicely and stay bouncy? You think that the best thing to do is to wash your curls to get them back into shape? Well, you're wrong!

Remember, washing your hair too frequently will cause it to re-grease faster, damage the lengths, accelerate hair loss and harm your curls!

Just dampen your hair every morning (without washing it out completely) with a spray bottle of water to help your curls straighten out!

RESHAPE THE CURL BY MOISTURISING

Moisturising your curls is not enough to re-style them, so the second step is to moisturise them! Your hair needs to become more supple to facilitate twisting so that your curl can be bounced naturally! To help them regain their shape and keep it all day, moisturise with a gel or milk like Doobaline Hair Milk.

DAILY CARE

Deep conditioning is necessary EVERY DAY. Your hair needs to absorb as much moisture as possible to stay supple. After moisturising with a gel or hair milk (like Doobaline hair milk), simply seal in the moisture with a light oil or styling cream (like Leave in Doobaline) to refresh your curls!

AVOID THE HAIR DRYER

The hair dryer dries out the fibre and encourages split ends and breakage! There is nothing better than letting your curly hair dry naturally. If you don't have the time, we recommend using a diffuser to distribute the heat better.

LEARN TO SRUNCHER

SRUNCHER YOUR CURLS! This harmless gesture is essential to redesign your curls naturally while drying them.

The "scrunch" consists of taking the ends of your hair with your hands and pulling them up to the roots, with small repetitive gestures.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR CURLS WHILE YOU SLEEP

When you sleep, your curly hair suffers greatly from rubbing against your sheets. Adopt the pineapple bun hairstyle: tie your curly hair into a bun on top of your head.

But the secret to waking up with perfect hair is silk! Silk is much less aggressive than cotton on curls.

We advise you to sleep on a pillowcase or put on a silk scarf to preserve your curls (satin is also a very good alternative!)

CUT YOUR HAIR REGULARLY

If your hair is too long, all the volume is concentrated at the ends, and your curls become slack. A trip to the hairdresser every 6 to 8 weeks will give them a boost!
