How to style curly hair?

Do you have curly hair you don't know how to tame it?

Curly hair is not always easy to style and requires special care. Discover our tips for washing and styling your curly hair !

1. Wash your hair only when necessary.

Washing your hair too frequently will re-grease your hair to faster, damage the lengths, accelerate hair loss and harm your curls as well as the environment.

A dry scalp requires no more than one or two washes per week. An oily scalp will require more frequent washings, provided that the wash is gentle and not too detergent.

In fact, the effectiveness of the wash depends less on the frequency of the wash than on the quality of the shampoo used.

2. Apply a mask with every shampoo.

Curly hair is dry by nature and needs more care than straight hair. The mask not only repairs the hair, but also deeply nourishes it to give it strength and vigour. It is therefore recommended to apply a mask with each shampoo (at least once a week).

3. Detangle your hair with a wide-tooth comb.

Wide-toothed combs will help curly hair detangles more easily while limiting hair and curl breakage, as hard brushes can do.

Focus on detangling your curls during the wash, mask or conditioner application so that the knots can be loosened more easily and without breakage.

Then finish detangling when you get out of the shower and apply hair milk or leave in to define your curls.

4. Rinse your hair with cold water.

After detangling your curly hair, rinse with cold water. Cold water increases shine and strength!

It purifies and cleanses the hair as it activates the blood microcirculation of the scalp.

Cold water closes the scales of the hair, making it stronger and shiner, but also reducing frizz.

5. Wring out your hair with a microfiber towel (or T-shirt)

Unlike conventional towels, microfibre towels and cotton T-shirts dry the hair without damaging it, thanks to their much less aggressive material.

Here again, the microfiber towel is a must-have solution to avoid frizz!

6. Style with a milk.

As a complement to our Doobaline leave-in, the milk will coat the hair and protect it from thermal aggression. Our Doobaline organic hair milk is specially designed to facilitate the styling of dry hair thanks to the exceptional oils it contains, such as Boaba, Macadamia and Sweet Almond oil. In addition, it moisturizes and strengthens dry and sensitive hair ends!
